Delicious herring. Moderately salty, aromatic.
It can be served with potatoes, can be used in salads, snacks.
In this way, you can salt not only herring, but also mackerel.

  • 1 kg fresh herring
  • 1 liter of water
  • 130-170 g salt
  • 1.5 tbsp Sahara
  • 10 pieces. black peppercorns
  • 5 pieces. allspice
  • 3 bay leaves


Add salt, sugar, black and allspice, bay leaf to the water.

Boil for 2-3 minutes.
Cool to room temperature.

Herring (I did not gut the herring, I only cleaned the scales) pour brine.

Press down with a load (for example, a plate).
Refrigerate for 2 days.
